George Papakostas

A passion for guiding clients in the right direction, a solid background in mortgage finance and expert negotiating skills make George Papakostas a sought-after real estate professional in Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia.  A lifelong area resident, George has particular expertise in real estate investment property.  He has personally purchased, improved, and re-sold  many properties, managing as many as ten properties at a time.  While George is able to view a property from an investor’s or broker’s perspective,  he also understands the emotional aspect that makes any house a home.  George is committed to using his unique expertise to help every client find the exceptional real estate values they seek.

With more than eleven years of experience in the real estate and mortgage lending fields, George P, as he is often called, has assisted a wide-range of property buyers and sellers, including first-timers, seniors, clients in financial distress, high net-worth clients and area real estate investors.  Every client benefits from his exceptional understanding of local real estate values and potential, but George’s firm commitment to client care does not end there.  George also shares his intimate knowledge of the mortgage industry to expertly guide his clients through the financing process until the deal is done to everyone’s satisfaction.

George studied business and international relations in college, but honed his professional skills as a Partner and Director of Sales for a real estate lending company.  After growing that business from one employee to more than 40, he found a natural transition to real estate sales.  Clients appreciate his ability to expertly analyze conditions in order to make informed decisions, his calm demeanor in stressful situations, and his commitment to integrity.

George P is a world traveler who speaks Greek fluently.  He is married with three young children and enjoys coaching youth sports in his leisure time.  He also actively supports international child-care organizations like World Vision.

What differentiates George from most realtors is his negotiation skills and his follow through.  He has the ability to engage the seller and gauge where we needed to be to be most competitive during the offer process, while also protecting our interests in the house and knowing when to give and take to get improvements and concessions.  After we moved in, we had some lingering issues with the house and George was not only responsive but persistent in making sure they were fixed.
